February is American Heart Month!



Happy February 1st! February is American Heart Month

Did you know...

According to the American Heart Association, heart disease is the number one killer of women, so we need to do everything we can to protect ourselves. One in three deaths is caused by heart attack or stroke, amounting to about 800,000 fatalities each year.

New Spa Jeans That Claim to Moisturize and Reduce Cellulite







A new line of jeans from Wrangler claim they will moisturize your skin and reduce the appearance of cellulite.

On January 28, Wrangler will release a special line called "Spa Denim" with built-in moisturizing properties and one pair with an anti-cellulite treatment.

But are these "cure-all" jeans are any different from other quick-results products? I've tried plenty of cellulite creams and yet I still have some cellulite on my thighs. So how would these jeans be any different?

According to a recent article published in the Huffington Post UK, two out of every five African American women avoid exercise because of concerns about their hairstyles, a study has found.
 
The findings, which were published in the Archives of Dermatology on Monday, sparked concerns about the obesity epidemic in the United States.

Challenge #2: Pass on the Sugar This Halloween, Choose Healthy Alternatives


Do you know how many calories your favorite candies pack? Just looking at all the calories in a little chocolate bar could pack up to 200 calories... to me, that's not worth it.

Halloween is already next week and this tends to be the start to when many people pack on the dreaded extra calories.

Whether you trick-or-treat yourself, or snag some of your children's candy, every little piece you put in your mouth adds up. After Halloween, the extra calories keep on coming with Thanksgiving around the corner, then Christmas and then New Years!

I saw it in Yahoo's 'Trending Now' section today, heard about it on the Dr. Oz show before and it's all over the web... raspberry ketone!

Raspberry ketone, a dietary supplement containing compounds from raspberries, is being called the "Miracle Fat Burner."

This is becoming the hottest way to a flat belly, so people say.

Is this some sort of magic pill?

Soda Vending Machines Will Show Calories


Starting early next year Coca-Cola, Pepsi and Dr Pepper will feature new vending machines that will post calorie counts right on the buttons of the machines. 

According to USA Today, this feature will also include small posted messages reminding buyers that they can choose a low-calorie drink. These vending machines will launch in Chicago and San Antonio municipal buildings in 2013 before appearing nationally.

2 Men Banned From All-You-Can-Eat Buffet For Eating Too Much, Ha!

An all-you-can-eat buffet in England recently banned two regular customers for coming in and always eating too much!

After, George Dalmon, 26, and Andy Miles, 25, were banned from eating at a Gobi, a Mongolian Barbecue buffet in Brighton, England, supposedly the manager called them "a couple of pigs."

The manager also said the two young men never tip or get anything other than the water and the $20 buffet.
