Food & Exercise Log: Busy Week Leads to Lack of Exercise

Hey guys!

It's been a couple of days since I've posted a food or exercise update. This week has been crazy for me and next week will be even crazier. I got a new job and I start training next week, in addition to the job I already have. So juggling work and exercise will be challenging in the weeks to come but I will still keep you updated!

I haven't exercised since Monday but I have been maintaining my weight at around 205 point something. I have five more pounds to go and I will reach my 200 goal.

After my 200 goal is accomplished, I will focus on getting down to 190 and then 180 with my long term goal being 150 pounds. Being that I'm 5'7, I think 150 is a healthy weight for me. When I eventually reach that goal, I will just maintain my weight from there.

Read below for today's food diary and don't forget to check out Challenge #2 just in time for Halloween.

Food & Exercise Diary: Benefits of Flax Seeds

Flax seeds provide many health benefits: high in most of the B vitamins, magnesium, and manganese, Omega-3 fatty acids and a great source of fiber. Sprinkle them on yogurt, oatmeal, cereal, anything!
Today I didn't do any exercise so there's no cardio or strength exercises to log. I also need to up my water intake, I didn't drink much today. I don't eat enough vegetables and I need to start incorporating veggies into my meals. And, I didn't eat much and fell below my 1,200 calorie minimum, I know... not good!

Going H.A.M in the Gym!

Greetings!

After not working out all weekend, today I went over my set goals in the gym and was bursting with energy. I still feel a little bit of pain in my core from that CX workout which was three days ago!

I also competed challenge #1 on the elliptical and surprised myself by burning 367 calories after a half hour of not looking at the numbers pass on the machine!

I stayed in the gym for a little over two hours today and divided up my cardio with arm exercises which gave my legs a break in between.

I also weighed myself today and saw 206.9 on the scale. Although that is not a set number because scales aren't always truthful, I'm happy to see the numbers go down and not up.

Check out my full workout below:

Tighten That Core with the CX Workout

Today I was inspired to try something out of my comfort zone. Yesterday I attended a Zumba class and had such a fun time while burning calories and working up a sweat. Today, not so much of a good time, but I know I had a good workout and my thighs need it!

I did the Les Mills CXWORX class which works your core in so many different ways, also your arms, back, butt, thighs and legs... it targets all the good spots. (Read more about CX after the jump.)

Using the resistance tube and weights, I worked muscles I didn't even know I had! Lunges, sit-ups, squats, planks... I did all the moves I hate. This class is no joke but I felt good at the end knowing I gave it my all.

Afterwards, the instructor informed us not to lift any heavy objects. Trust me, you won't feel like lifting anything after this class. However, cardio can be done afterwards. I got really lazy on the treadmill but burned an additional 205 calories, walking on a slight incline for 30 minutes.

Food & Exercise Log: Not Too Hungry Today, But Eating Too Little Slows Metabolism

Hello! Well today I didn't have the urge to eat much. I think I could have gone through this whole day with just eating fruit but I managed to eat some other things. Check out below why it's important to consume at least 1,200 calories a day.

My Food and Exercise Log: Recovering From Eating Too Much

Look out for an upcoming post on why the stair stepper is a great cardio workout
Today I woke up and felt really full. This feeling was probably carrying over from yesterday's huge Red Lobster meal. I didn't feel like working out and felt very sluggish. But, I thought about all the food I consumed yesterday and felt the need to work some of it off, so that motivated me to put on my sneakers and workout clothes and I headed off to the gym. Afterwards I was happy I didn't skip out today even though it felt like my thighs weighed 100 pounds each.
